What an AWS Services Tier Partner Does for Your Business

Choosing who helps you build on AWS is as important as choosing the architecture. An AWS partner brings certified people, proven methods and a direct line into AWS resources. Here is what partner status means and how to judge whether a partner is right for you.

What partner status means

AWS recognises partners that can show they deliver successful customer projects and employ certified engineers. A Services Tier Partner is a company that provides professional and managed services on AWS, from migration to ongoing operations.

Cloudreva is an AWS Services Tier Partner, and our team holds AWS certifications across architecture, DevOps and the cloud fundamentals. You can see them on our about page.

What to check before you hire

Partner badges are a good starting point, but they are not the whole story. Ask for evidence that the people who will work on your project are qualified and that the partner has done similar work before.

  • Certifications held by the engineers who will do the work
  • Customer references or case studies for similar projects
  • A method based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Clear pricing and a written scope with no hidden fees
  • Support terms, including SLAs and response times

How a partner helps across the lifecycle

A good partner is useful at every stage, not only at the start. They plan and run your AWS cloud migration, automate delivery with DevOps and infrastructure as code, review your setup for security and reliability and keep costs in check.

After go-live they can operate the environment for you through managed cloud services, and help you adopt newer capabilities such as generative AI and data analytics when you are ready.

Questions to ask a prospective partner

Bring a short list of questions to your first call. The answers tell you far more than a brochure.

  • Who will be on my project, and what are their certifications?
  • How do you keep downtime low during a migration?
  • How do you report on cost and performance after go-live?
  • What happens to my environment if we stop working together?
